Sometimes God plants something new in you long before it ever shows itself visibly. It takes time for it to sit in the earth of your soul, being watered and tended to before it pushes through to a place where it can be seen by yourself and others.
New can be scary and intimidating. It takes what we once knew and how we once operated and chips away at it until it’s transformed and looks like something we don’t quite yet recognize – it’s unfamiliar to us.
It is new.
Is there something new that God is doing in you that maybe you haven’t quite recognized yet? Do you sense a shift or change happening deep within?
This verse has been a prayer of mine the past year and is becoming a life anthem for me:
He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:3
May we open our hearts freely and ask God to put those new songs in our mouths. The ones we don’t yet know the lyrics to but we hum as best we can, out of tune and out of pitch. The ones we faintly hear and can’t yet gracefully dance to because we don’t know what beat comes next.
He has so many new songs for us to sing.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 1 Corinthians 5:17
Look inside and ask yourself, is there anything that feels like it’s churning or being created within? Do you sense something old fading away and something new waiting to come forth?
What new song does He have for you to sing today?

The stock market opened 10 minutes ago. I read this 5 minutes ago. I could feel my blood pressure drop 10 points, I didn’t think that could happen at this time of day. Thank you.
